Position Overview
MangoBoost is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of critical IT infrastructure components, including CPUs, GPUs, memory, SSD/NVMe, networking equipment, and barebone servers.
In this role, you will drive measurable cost savings and improve product margins through strategic supplier negotiations, should-cost and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)-based sourcing decisions, and long-term supply agreements. You will also oversee purchasing decisions and delivery strategies based on negotiated commercial terms while developing sourcing strategies that ensure supply continuity through supplier diversification and proactive allocation management.
Responsibilities & Opportunities
Cost Optimization & Contract Negotiation
- Lead strategic negotiations with vendors and distributors to secure competitive pricing and achieve measurable cost-saving targets.
- Develop and maintain should-cost and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to support data-driven sourcing decisions.
- Structure, negotiate, and manage long-term supply agreements (LTAs), volume discount programs, capacity reservation agreements, and other commercial contracts.
- Lead sourcing activities including RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes, supplier evaluations, and commercial bid analysis.
Purchasing Decisions & Delivery Strategy
- Make purchasing decisions based on negotiated commercial terms, including order timing, purchase quantities, and procurement strategies, while coordinating execution with the SCM team.
- Develop delivery strategies by negotiating lead times and identifying opportunities to improve supplier responsiveness.
- Establish expedite strategies for critical shortages, including allocation negotiations, supplier prioritization, and alternative sourcing decisions.
Category Sourcing Strategy
- Develop category sourcing strategies and spend analyses across CPUs, GPUs, memory, SSD/NVMe, networking equipment, and barebone servers.
- Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and supplier landscapes to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Develop procurement strategies and negotiate pricing for allocation-constrained commodities such as DRAM and NAND.
Multi-Channel Sourcing & Supplier Network Management
- Develop and manage sourcing strategies across multiple procurement channels, including direct manufacturers (OCM/ODM), authorized distributors, resellers, spot markets, and brokers.
- Leverage supplier, distributor, and broker networks to proactively secure critical component allocation and supply priority.
- Optimize sourcing channels based on market conditions by balancing contracted supply with spot purchases when necessary.
- Establish risk management processes for broker and spot purchases, including counterfeit prevention, authenticity verification, and product traceability.
Supplier Development & Strategic Relationship Management
- Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to diversify the supply base, reduce concentration risk, and optimize the supplier portfolio.
- Evaluate suppliers' commercial capabilities, including pricing, contractual terms, and financial stability, and manage supplier onboarding.
- Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers that influence MangoBoost's product roadmap.
- Collaborate with the R&D organization to align supplier technology roadmaps, including PCIe generation transitions and next-generation SSD and GPU technologies.
- Manage supplier performance with a focus on commercial execution, cost competitiveness, and contract compliance.
Cross-Functional Sourcing Strategy
- Partner with Product, Finance, and Legal teams to develop sourcing strategies aligned with CapEx forecasts and infrastructure deployment schedules.
- Align cost-saving initiatives and procurement budgets with Finance.
- Collaborate with Legal to negotiate and review supplier agreements, including pricing, warranties, liabilities, and contractual risk provisions.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Procurement or Strategic Sourcing experience within the server, data center, or semiconductor industries.
- Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings through strategic supplier negotiations and managing long-term supply agreements, including LTAs, volume discounts, and capacity reservation contracts.
- Experience developing and utilizing should-cost and TCO models.
- Experience implementing multi-source strategies and managing supplier concentration risk.
- Strong sourcing network across direct manufacturers (OCM/ODM), distributors, resellers, spot markets, and brokers.
- Solid understanding of server hardware technologies, including CPUs, GPUs, memory, SSD/NVMe, networking equipment, and barebone servers.
- Experience managing purchase orders, on-time delivery (OTD), and ERP/procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Experience developing sourcing strategies through cross-functional collaboration with Hardware Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams.
- Strong business-level English communication skills, with experience working with U.S.-based teams and global suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience sourcing and expediting allocation-constrained, long lead-time components such as GPUs, HBM, and memory, including spot procurement, broker management, and counterfeit risk mitigation.
- Procurement or Strategic Sourcing experience at hyperscalers, server OEM/ODM companies, or global semiconductor manufacturers.
- Experience using spend analytics and e-sourcing platforms.
- Professional procurement certifications such as CPSM or CPP.
- Experience working in startups or fast-growing global organizations.
