Mujin is a global leader in industrial automation, redefining supply chain efficiency through MujinOS—our intelligent operating system for robotics. At our core is Machine Intelligence (MujinMI), a unique approach that leverages real-time digital twins and advanced perception, planning, and control algorithms to achieve fully autonomous operations.
Our flagship product, MujinController, empowers users with a highly configurable, no-code interface. By integrating cutting-edge motion planning and computer vision, it enables seamless automation for complex applications such as palletizing, picking, and truck unloading.
Headquartered in Japan with a growing presence in the US, China, and Europe, we invite you to join a dynamic environment where you can shape the future of automation.
About the Role
Mujin is hiring a Release Engineer for a growing team to focus on shaping and building scalable, reliable processes for software packaging, validation, and delivery rather than just building features.
- Regular releases are critical to maturing MujinOS as a product, ensuring consistent quality and completeness across complex systems. Turning ongoing development into stable, releasable versions requires not only coordination, but also development of internal tooling, workflows, and automation systems.
- In this role, you will make releases more predictable, efficient, and scalable by designing and developing release workflows, internal tools, and quality gates—while staying hands-on with release-stage QA and integration validation.
- You will work closely with engineers responsible for our core software systems, QA, and documentation owners, helping ensure that what is built can be confidently released, clearly understood, and effectively used by both internal teams and end users.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to better understand our end users' needs for issue tracking and management and help improve and maintain the issue tracking tools/systems and workflows
- Help improve and evolve existing end‑to‑end release processes and workflows
- Participate hands‑on in release-stage integration and regression QA
- Help define and uphold release quality gates together with developers and QA
- Help improve release notes and release visibility by understanding how users consume releases and implementing improvements to increase adoption and usage awareness
- Create tooling and automation (Python/Bash/C++) to reduce manual release preparation work
- Drive practical AI usage in release workflows (e.g. release note drafts, change aggregation)
Minimum Requirements
- Practical experience designing and operating production release workflows
- Strong understanding of system-level testing and release QA
- Experience working cross-functionally and taking ownership of ambiguous initiatives
- Experience working with planning or tracking tools (e.g. Jira or equivalents)
- Hands-on experience developing tools or automation using languages such as Python or C++ Ability to build scripts, tools, or systems to improve release workflows, QA processes, and automation
Preferred Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Release Engineering or similar roles (e.g. Release Engineer, Product Enablement, DevEx, release-focused DevOps)
- Experience with AI tools in software delivery or documentation workflows
- Background in environments with remote or limited deployment control
Interview Process
- Resume Screening
- Take-home coding test
- HR interview
- Technical interview
- Culture/Team fit interview
Attractives
- Own and define the release function from the ground up, rather than inheriting a fixed framework
- Drive high-impact improvements in developer productivity, release efficiency, and overall product quality
- Take on a hands-on, builder role with strong influence across engineering, QA, and documentation
- Opportunity to design and implement AI-powered solutions in real production release workflows
