The Role and Impact

As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, installing, and enhancing manufacturing systems that meet factory requirements and drive operational excellence. You will integrate and optimize hardware, software, and automation systems, ensuring reliability, cost efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving high-volume manufacturing processes and equipment performance, enabling Intel to deliver industry-leading products.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate electronic or electromechanical system designs and provide input for optimization.
Integrate, test, install, and configure hardware and software systems in the manufacturing environment.
Coordinate factory requirements and map them to automation system capabilities, recommending technical solutions.
Use data analytics to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
Develop metrics and monitoring processes for manufacturing systems.
Lead preventive maintenance programs to meet equipment availability targets.
Collaborate across factories to drive continuous improvement roadmaps and achieve new equipment performance goals.
Work with suppliers to troubleshoot issues and improve existing and new products.
Manage projects, including requirements definition, planning, budgeting, design, procurement, installation, and post-implementation reviews.
Conduct gap analyses for disruptive technologies, design systems to enable them, and lead implementation with high-volume manufacturing partners.

Qualifications:

Min. 2–6 years of relevant professional experience.
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Master's degree preferred (MBA or relevant technical field).
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, startup‑style environment and effectively manage stress.
Hands-on experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) within a manufacturing environment, with exposure to shop floor systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Experience supporting multiple NPI projects is preferred.
Willingness and ability to work onsite in Penang.
