Head of Korean Original Series, Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon Studios is seeking an experienced creative development and production executive to join our International Originals team, with a focus on identifying and developing Korean co-production opportunities.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in giving creative guidance and feedback to writers and showrunners on outlines, scripts, and cuts and is fully versed in top talent: writers, directors, producers, actors. They must have strong interpersonal skills and deep relationships within the local industry, and excellent creative instincts on material.

They thrive in a fast-paced environment, balance multiple priorities and projects with clarity, excel at connecting teams and ideas, and have a proven track record of delivering results. You are a dynamic creative professional who is equally skilled at big-picture thinking and operational precision.
For this role, we are seeking someone who can apply their comprehensive knowledge of the Korean television landscape to identify, source, and support scripted development opportunities that global customers love.

Key job responsibilities

• Build relationships with show creators and creative community
• Assess pilot proposals, scripts, and pitches
• Work with writers and artists to develop series ideas and scripts
• Support production oversight when series are greenlit
• Coordinate with other departments including Marketing, Press, Research, and Business and Legal Affairs

Basic qualifications

• 10+ years of creative development experience at a studio, network, or production company
• Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
• Experience with scripted storytelling and live-action workflows
• Full professional proficiency in Korean (written and verbal)
• Full professional proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in entertainment deal making, representing or working for a major scripted production company, studio or network
• Experience working with or for a major streaming service
• Experience contributing to or owning long-range content strategy
• Experience establishing scalable development processes or content evaluation frameworks
