The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as an Engineering Technician, you play a crucial role in supporting activities including design, test, modification, and assembly of electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment. Referencing schematics, diagrams, and descriptions, you conduct testing and troubleshooting. You'll perform fault isolation and assist in determining methods to remedy malfunctions. Your commitment to precision and problem-solving enhances Lam's engineering systems.
In this role, you will directly contribute to install and maintain concept and feasibility hardware including various Lam products, especially deposition tools(PECVD,ALD,CVD), to enhance and develop current and the next generation of semiconductor equipment for our customers.

What you’ll do

• Mainly work on PECVD/ALD/metal deposition equipment
• Support installation and relocation start-up service of complex electromechanical and electronic systems at Lab environment.
• May perform multiple technical tasks and may coordinate work of assigned engineers.
• Determine corrective actions required and/or escalate for assistance and prompt resolution. 
• Perform upgrades, complete start up, PM’s, and installations on multiple platforms
• Perform other related duties as assigned by senior LSE / supervisor
• Accountable for maintaining assigned equipment (computer, tool kit, diagnostic test equipment, spare parts etc.) in good working condition.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and vacuum equipment.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous gas and liquid materials using required Personal Protective Equipment.

Who we’re looking for

• 1-2 years of related work experience or a 2-year technical degree and 1 year of related experience
• Firsthand experience with installation, maintenance, repair, testing, or troubleshooting of equipment or electronics.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
• Proficient in utilizing computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work a shift schedule.

Preferred qualifications

• Associates degree, Technical Certificate, Diploma or higher in a technical field.
• Experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, metrology, lab operations, or related areas.
• Understanding of and experience in installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of semiconductor equipment.
• Knowledge of, or experience with, Lam product group tools(PECVD/ALD/DM)
• Work in clean room environment, wearing appropriate personal protective safety equipment.
• Understand and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
