The Global Markets functions is a trusted partner to external clients (Corporates, Financial institutions and Asset Managers) in market activities, offering a cross-expertise in Research, Investment and Risk Solutions, Execution and Prime Services.

FIXED INCOME & CURRENCIES

A SOLUTIONS & DERIVATIVES HOUSE

The Fixed Income department at Societe Generale aim at providing a full set of services to Institutional and Corporate clients that will support their investment or risk management targets.

Thanks to market-leading research, engineering, trading and e-commerce capabilities, our clients benefit from strategic insights, flow information, competitive pricing and seamless execution across rates, credit, FX, and emerging markets.

We design solutions for our clients, capitalising on the full spectrum of fixed income and currencies products and services.

CREDIT

LINKING BORROWERS TO INVESTORS FROM ORIGINATION TO DISTRIBUTION We service our clients on the full credit spectrum from Investment Grade to High Yield and X-Over and on cash as well as indices, options and singe name CDS.

GLOBAL FX & EMERGING MARKETS EUROPEAN MARKET LEADER WITH EMERGING MARKET FOCUS Our clients can tap our capacity to execute large FX deals. We also offer a global coverage on all major currencies, and the local access of our global emerging markets platform spanning CEE, Asia, Africa and Brazil.

ACCESS TO CASH AND DERIVATIVES

Through packaged trade ideas or flawless execution, we offer our clients the best of our trading and structuring expertise. Our capabilities span from derivatives to government, agency & supranational securities to covered bonds, inflation-linked products and ETFs.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role:

Support senior traders in managing and growing the EM and Frontier Markets franchise through risk monitoring, trade support, interaction with Risk, Middle Office and Back Office teams, and process improvement initiatives.

Provide market-making and risk management support across a range of Frontier Market currencies, while acting as backup on selected EM currency franchises.

Provide liquidity and execution services to external clients, SG branches, and internal stakeholders.

Contribute to franchise development through market analysis, trade ideas, and close collaboration with Sales and Strategy.

Develop strong expertise in Frontier and Emerging Markets, maintaining high standards of attention to detail and risk management, while ensuring all activities are conducted in full compliance with internal policies, risk limits, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Franchise Support

Support senior traders in the day-to-day management and development of the EM and Frontier Markets franchise.
Monitor positions, risks and P&L, and assist with hedging and execution activities across Frontier Markets currencies.
Provide backup coverage for selected EM currency franchises as required.
Contribute to the improvement of trading processes, controls, spreadsheets, analytics and automation tools to enhance desk efficiency.
Liaise closely with Risk, Middle Office, Back Office, Compliance, IT and other support functions to ensure the smooth operation of the trading business.
Support the development and onboarding of junior team members by sharing knowledge, providing guidance and promoting best practices across the desk, commensurate with experience and seniority.

Client & Commercial Responsibilities

Provide liquidity and execution services to clients, SG branches and internal stakeholders.
Work closely with Sales and Strategy teams to identify client opportunities, share market intelligence and support revenue generation.
Contribute to building and maintaining strong client relationships through professional and responsive market coverage.

Market & Risk Management

Maintain a strong understanding of Frontier and Emerging Markets, market developments and client flows.
Manage risks in line with delegated authority and support the team in monitoring market, credit and operational risks.
Ensure all trading activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies, trading mandates, risk limits, compliance standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Undertake any additional duties reasonably required by management in support of the EM Trading business and the wider Global Markets platform.
Demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, teamwork, integrity and conduct in all interactions with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
Remain committed to continuous learning and development, maintaining relevant market, product and regulatory knowledge.

Profile required

Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the overall success of the desk.
Sound understanding of financial markets and market dynamics, with knowledge of FX and Rates products and a strong interest in Emerging and Frontier Markets.
Ability to support and execute the desk's strategy, understanding the importance of collective objectives over individual goals.
High degree of integrity, transparency and openness, fostering a culture of trust through clear communication, timely escalation of issues and constructive challenge.
