We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in strengthening our accounting foundation and supporting financial accuracy across our growing hardware programs. You will apply your experience in standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, contract manufacturing, and ERP systems to improve cost allocation, financial reporting, and accounting processes. This is a high impact role, reporting to the Director of Accounting, helping to build scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment. Own product costing and inventory accounting across our hardware programs, including inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, reserves, and close activities
Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and FP&A to maintain accurate BOMs, develop labor and overhead assumptions, and support gross margin analysis
Build scalable accounting processes for new product introductions, prototypes, engineering builds, and production
Own inventory accounting policies and controls covering capitalization, overhead allocation, LCNRV assessments, freight, tariffs, and other inventory-related costs
Improve cost accounting systems, reporting, and workflows in partnership with cross-functional teams
Support internal and external audits related to cost and inventory accounting
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in cost, inventory, or manufacturing accounting
Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, overhead allocation, and cost of goods sold
Experience in automotive, robotics, aerospace, semiconductor, electronics, or another hardware manufacturing industry
Proficiency with NetSuite and Excel
Strong analytical and data aggregation skills with excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
CPA or CMA
Experience in a high-growth company environment
Experience supporting new product introductions or manufacturing scale-up
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
