Rebellions builds its own NPUs, and the Platform Engineering group within the FSW team designs and operates the on-prem datacenter and Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that sits on top of it. This platform is the first real-world proving ground for our next-generation hardware — the experience we build here flows directly into external PoCs and shipping products. The role spans the full NPU cloud stack, from Kubernetes and virtualization to IDP development, at the boundary of SRE and platform engineering.
Responsibilities and Opportunities
- Design, build, and operate a Kubernetes-based Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that provisions bare-metal, VM, and container resources to internal teams, consolidating development infrastructure scattered across teams into a shared self-service platform
- Develop and maintain platform services end to end, spanning backend APIs (Python / Rust), durable workflows, databases, and frontend (TypeScript / React), with full observability through Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Loki, and Grafana
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes compute resources including cluster operations, high-speed RDMA networking (RoCE, SR-IOV), PCI passthrough device allocation, and storage integration with dynamic volume provisioning
- Automate infrastructure through IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Helm) and GitOps-based workflows, and build a CMDB service to manage internal infrastructure assets
- Support the software development lifecycle by maintaining the internal service catalog and providing build/test resources for CI/CD pipelines
- Treat the platform as a product, listening to internal teams, abstracting their needs into common solutions, and continuously improving developer experience through automation and iteration
Key Qualifications
- A working understanding of ML inference / PyTorch workflows, and the ability to debug systems with complex dependencies
- Hands-on experience building services or platforms end to end, with the ability to turn requirements into software in Python, Rust, Go, or JS/TS
- Strong experience operating Kubernetes, including cluster build and operations, and workload, network, and storage troubleshooting
- A pragmatic problem-solving approach, tracing root causes and eliminating recurring toil through automation
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across hardware, firmware, and application teams in a fast-paced environment
Ideal Qualifications
- Virtualization and accelerator scheduling on Kubernetes (KubeVirt, DevicePlugin, DRA)
- Linux systems engineering including kernel, driver, and network debugging, and virtualization (KVM/QEMU/libvirt)
- High-speed networking experience with RDMA/RoCE/SR-IOV or PCIe/NUMA/IOMMU
- Experience with LLM inference frameworks (e.g., vLLM) or GPU/NPU accelerator platforms
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Ansible, Helm, or Terraform
- Experience building internal developer platforms (IDP) or self-service portals
- Bare-metal provisioning experience with Metal3 or Ironic
