業務内容

• メルカリを中心としたアプリ／WebのUX/UIデザイン
• プロダクト全体の構造理解と、新機能紹介に向けた設計支援
• 既存プロダクトのUX/UI改善、グロースハック、マーケティングプロモーションデザイン
• ユーザーリサーチに基づく課題発見と改善提案
• デザインコンセプトの立案および言語化
• プロジェクト推進（進行管理、リソース管理、スコープ調整など）
• エンジニアやPMと連携したプロトタイピング・実装支援
• デザインシステムやガイドラインの活用・改善への参画

Target Applicants

• Target Applicants: Those who can join as new graduates in October 2027 or April 2028.
• Employment Status: Intern - Please apply only if you are able to stay in Japan, as the internship must be from within Japan. For those who live overseas, we will provide Visa support and accommodation arrangements.
• Work Hours: Able to work more than 20 hours per week. A 2-3 months of Internship is encouraged. Please consult with the recruiter if you prefer shorter/longer period
• Airline ticket arrangements will be provided only to candidates who have not yet purchased their tickets at the time the internship offer is made.

Organization/Team Mission

Our mission is to deliver new, improved, and seamless experiences rooted in Mercari's Mission and Values to tens of millions of customers. We work across diverse services, including the Mercari marketplace app, Merpay, and Mercoin. This role goes beyond simple design tasks; you will be involved in experience design with a strong business perspective. We are looking for UI/UX Design Interns to join the design organization of the Mercari Group. For more details on our Mission and Values, please click here.

Work Responsibilities

• UX/UI design for apps and web services, centered on Mercari.
• Understanding the overall product structure and supporting design for new feature introductions.
• UX/UI improvement of existing products, growth hacking, and marketing promotion design.
• Problem discovery and improvement proposals based on user research.
• Development and verbalization of design concepts.
• Project promotion (progress management, resource management, scope adjustment, etc.).
• Prototyping and implementation support in collaboration with engineers and PMs.
• Participation in the utilization and improvement of our design system and guidelines.

Unique Challenges

• Experience working on a large-scale product used by tens of millions of users.

• Involvement in holistic UX design across multiple business domains like C2C marketplace, Fintech, and Crypto assets.

Qualifications

• Required Experience/Skills

• Empathy for the Mission and Values of Mercari Group and its companies.

• Regular user of the Mercari app.

• Practical use of AI and generative tools in design and information architecture.

• Experience in UX/UI design for mobile applications.

• Fundamental knowledge of mobile UI design (OS-specific guidelines, Material Design, etc.).

• Ability to perform logical information architecture (experience in wireframing, user flows, etc.).

• Ability to utilize design systems and existing components.

• Strong conceptual skills (verbalizing your worldview and perspective on issues and translating them into design).

• Preferred Experience/Skills

• Interest in future leadership roles within the design organization or management.

• Interest in building design organizations and culture.

• Proven track record of improving experience value through UX research.

• Experience in product development co-creating with engineers, PMs, and other designers.

• Experience delivering output in a business setting (internships, startups, etc.).

• Skills in goal setting and systemization (setting KPIs for ideas and designing frameworks to track progress).
