ABOUT THE ROLE:
Within Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets integrates research, execution, risk management, and multi-asset structuring capabilities to deliver client-focused market solutions. As part of the Capital Markets Operational Risk Management (ORM) team, this role is responsible for managing and enhancing first-line controls across the Americas. The position focuses on executing the Written Supervisory Procedures (WSP) framework, supporting regulatory initiatives, and strengthening the front-office control environment.
Produce and maintain first-line control reports supporting the WSP framework
Track and coordinate responses with supervision teams on control-related actions
Support WSP and checklist quality assurance by identifying key risk areas, assessing control effectiveness, recommending and tracking remediation actions
Evaluate and enhance the front-office supervision framework
Partner with Risk, IT, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to deliver regulatory priorities
Identify and implement opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency
Optimize operational workflows through technology and cross-functional collaboration
Oversee development of data-driven insights and dashboards (e.g., Power BI)
Leverage tools such as Python, workflow platforms, and APIs to streamline processes
required skills & experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a related field with exposure to financial markets
~5 years’ experience in capital markets or control functions (e.g., FO controls, audit, compliance, business management)
Knowledge of Global Markets products (Equities and Fixed Income)
Understanding of risk frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., Three Lines of Defense)
Knowledge of APIs and low-/no-code platforms
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
Certifications (e.g., CORM, PRM, CAMS) are a plus
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Ability to work across trading, sales, risk, and compliance teams
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
