Cloud & Data Center Services
As a Service Manager within Olympus' Global Cloud & Data Center Services organization, you will drive service strategy, governance, standardization, and continuous improvement across cloud and infrastructure services.
Working within the framework of global standards, architecture principles, and security policies, you will help define and execute regional service strategies that deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure services across the Japan region.
Acting as the regional representative for Cloud & Data Center Services, you will collaborate with global teams, service providers, and business stakeholders to improve service quality, drive modernization initiatives, and ensure alignment between regional needs and global objectives.
Key Responsibilities
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all IT operations related to the assigned services. The role aims to optimize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency through the design, implementation, and operation of server infrastructure in both cloud and on-premises environments (including Windows Server, virtualization, storage, and backup systems).
As the regional representative for server infrastructure in Japan, the individual will align local operations with global standards and security policies, while developing and executing implementation plans tailored to the Japanese business environment.
Drive service strategy, governance, and operational management across cloud and data center services
Define, maintain, and continuously improve service designs aligned with global architecture standards and infrastructure roadmaps
Establish and promote service standards, operational frameworks, and best practices across cloud and infrastructure platforms
Collaborate with regional delivery teams and service providers to drive continuous service improvement, lifecycle management, and modernization of cloud and data center services
Govern service quality through SLA/KPI management and continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute to cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and data center transformation programs
Develop and execute regional implementation plans aligned with global strategy and local business requirements
Lead the end-to-end process from major incident escalation through problem management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous service improvement in collaboration with global teams and vendors
Drive security, compliance, risk management, and audit readiness activities
Collaborate with global teams, business stakeholders, and service providers to enhance service effectiveness and business value
Act as the regional representative for Cloud & Data Center Services, providing leadership in governance, stakeholder management, and service direction
Apply IT security standards, evaluate and mitigate risks
Collaborate with domestic and international teams, acting as a regional expert to drive problem resolution
3-5 years of experience managing enterprise-scale server infrastructure or cloud services in complex environments
Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS
Experience working in hybrid cloud environments
Experience managing service quality, SLA/KPI governance, and continuous improvement initiatives
3+ years of vendor management experience
Experience managing stakeholders across regional and global organizations Language Skills
Native Japanese or Business professional level (Equivalent to N1 level)
Business-level English

Technical & Project Experience
Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives from on-premises environments
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform
Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Experience participating in or leading large-scale global infrastructure projects
Experience managing services through Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
IT infrastructure experience within manufacturing or R&D environments
Experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries
Knowledge of Windows, Linux, database, storage, and backup technologies Certifications
