The group you’ll be a part of
In the Global Operations and Digital Solutions organization, we are focused on driving digital transformation and operational excellence across Lam's global technology centers and manufacturing environments. Through the deployment and continuous improvement of the Global Lab Execution System (GLES), Material Control System (MCS), and automation solutions, we enable efficient, traceable, and scalable semiconductor development and manufacturing operations.
At KTC, team works closely with engineering, automation, IT, and program management teams to validate, improve, and support MES and factory automation capabilities that enhance productivity, material traceability, and operational execution.
The impact you’ll make
As a Process Technician supporting the Global Lab Execution System (GLES) program at Lam, you will play a critical role in validating MES and automation solutions within a real semiconductor lab environment. You will execute system test scenarios on production and development equipment, provide hands-on feedback to program teams, and help identify opportunities to improve system functionality, usability, and operational effectiveness.
Working closely with Program Managers, Process Engineers, and Automation teams, you will bridge the gap between digital solutions and real-world operations by ensuring that system enhancements are thoroughly tested, validated, and successfully integrated into daily lab activities.
In this role, you will directly contribute to Lam's digital transformation initiatives at KTC.
What you’ll do
- Execute GLES (MES) and automation-related validation activities on semiconductor equipment and operational workflows.
- Perform functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) of new MES capabilities, workflows, and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with Program Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to execute project deliverables and support deployment activities.
- Validate material tracking, production execution, recipe management, and automation workflows within a live operational environment.
- Identify system defects, operational gaps, and process improvement opportunities, providing detailed feedback to development and program teams.
- Troubleshoot MES, MCS, equipment integration, and automation-related issues and support root cause investigations.
- Document test results, operational observations, system issues, and corrective actions.
- Support implementation of new workflows, automation initiatives, and digital transformation projects within lab operations.
- Coordinate with engineering, automation, and IT teams to ensure successful execution and adoption of system improvements.
- Assist in developing test plans, validation protocols, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Who we’re looking for
- 1+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory operations, factory automation, MES support, or related technical roles.
- Associate's degree, Technical Diploma, Certificate, or higher in Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, Computer Systems, Automation, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience operating or supporting semiconductor process equipment or manufacturing systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accurate documentation practices.
- Basic communication skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while following safety protocols and PPE requirements.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), including testing, validation, or user support activities.
- Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and wafer fabrication operations.
- Knowledge of Material Control Systems (MCS), factory automation, AMHS, stockers, RFID tracking, or material handling solutions.
- Experience participating in software deployment, system integration, or User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Familiarity with equipment communication standards and semiconductor automation concepts.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Ability to analyze system behavior, identify gaps, and recommend practical improvements.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced technical environments.
