Java Software Engineer 2 - IT

Our IT Software Engineer team turns business requirements into technology solutions by designing, coding and testing/debugging applications, as well as documenting procedures for use and constantly seeking quality improvements.

You will:

Support and maintain Java-based applications from a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) perspective, ensuring application stability, reliability, and performance.

Manage incident support, compliance activities, security initiatives, and end-of-life (EOL) efforts across a portfolio of 90+ applications within Dell Digital Services.

Collaborate on DevOps practices and platform operations for applications hosted on PCF and KOB infrastructure.

Provide support for enterprise applications built on technologies including Java, .NET, Salesforce (SFDC), Oracle, and MongoDB.

Essential Requirements

5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining applications using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.

Experience building scalable and secure backend services and microservices, including REST API development and third-party system integrations.

Strong experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL), including query optimization and performance tuning.

Proven ability to develop clean, maintainable, and testable code, while participating in code reviews, debugging, and production support.

Experience contributing to CI/CD and DevOps practices using Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps, ensuring application security, reliability, and performance.
Desirable Requirements

Experience supporting end-of-life (EOL) initiatives, including Linux and Windows server migrations and platform upgrades.

Demonstrated ability to improve release management processes through automation, standardization, and adoption of engineering best practices.
