The Global Workplace Solutions group manages a worldwide portfolio of real estate and facilities of nearly two million square feet in the San Francisco Bay Area, one million square feet in Oregon, and potentially adding facilities in Asia in the next two years. Ensuring that all sites operate smoothly without disruption, this group also provides lab services such as gas and chemical delivery, tool installation projects, and cleanroom garments. This group is responsible for conducting all construction and site improvement work to ensure that all work complies with global and local regulatory requirements. This group also provides engineering work to support infrastructure maintenance and construction.
This key position will lead a team to not only achieve these objectives but will also benchmark and measure key performance indicators to pursue progressive improvements, both in service and spending improvement to an annual budget of about $100M in operations and rental expenses.
This position works closely with the Real Estate and Space Planning leadership team to support sound decision making with qualitative and quantitative analysis. Examples include analyses such as financial and qualitative analysis to inform our real estate strategy at a regional and global level, considering factors such as real estate supply, potential headcount growth scenarios, potential new office openings, manufacturing needs. Analyses around leasing vs. buying, subleasing, usage of short-term space vs. long-term leases, and cost of tenant improvements. Continuous improvement of the office, manufacturing, R&D, and warehouse spaces will help improve the efficiency and quality of our workspace, that will improve the productivity of our employees, and that will help attract and retain highly talented employees.
Facilities Support position role
Facilities Support is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas and chemical supply systems that support laboratory and research activities. This role performs equipment operation, routine inspections, preventive maintenance, material change-outs, troubleshooting, and facility support activities to maintain a safe and productive research environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with researchers, engineers, facilities personnel, and external service providers to ensure facility readiness, support research equipment operations, and maintain compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Gas & Chemical System Operations
- Operate and monitor gas and chemical distribution systems supporting laboratory and research activities.
- Perform routine inspections of Gas Cabinets, Valve Manifold Boxes (VMBs), Chemical Cabinets, Chemical Delivery Units (CDUs), and associated support equipment.
- Verify equipment status, system parameters, and operating conditions through scheduled inspections and operational checks.
- Monitor facility systems and respond appropriately to alarms and abnormal operating conditions.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with established schedules, procedures, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Conduct leak checks and equipment functional verification activities to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting and support corrective maintenance activities.
- Assist with equipment startup, shutdown, commissioning, modifications, and system upgrades.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external service providers as required.
Research & Laboratory Support
- Support the installation, hook-up, relocation, and startup of research and laboratory equipment.
- Support gas and chemical utility requirements for new research projects, experimental setups, and equipment installations.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to support facility-related needs and operational readiness.
- Participate in evaluating facility support requirements for new tools, research equipment, and technology development projects.
- Support facility readiness activities for research programs and laboratory operations.
- Assist with laboratory expansion projects, equipment relocations, and new research space development.
Material Handling & Inventory Management
- Safely replace gas cylinders, specialty gas containers, precursors, and chemical containers in accordance with approved procedures.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, transportation, and labeling of hazardous materials.
- Monitor gas and chemical inventory levels and support replenishment activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and material usage documentation.
- Support waste chemical collection, storage, and disposal activities in compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, system status, and operational events.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and facility guidelines.
- Support internal audits, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of operational procedures and maintenance practices.
- Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas.
Safety & Emergency Response
- Strictly adhere to all safety, environmental, and health requirements.
- Identify and report potential hazards and participate in risk mitigation activities.
- Respond to leaks, equipment failures, abnormal operating conditions, and emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in emergency response drills, incident investigations, and corrective action activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Semiconductor, Facilities, Environmental, Automation, or other related technical disciplines.(가스산업기사 보유자 선호)

Basic knowledge of mechanical, chemical, electrical, laboratory, or facility systems gained through education, technical training, internships, or related work experience.

Preferred qualifications
- Hands-on experience through internships, vocational training, laboratory activities, facility operations, equipment maintenance, manufacturing environments, or other related technical settings.
- Experience supporting research laboratories, semiconductor R&D facilities, pilot lines, cleanrooms, or advanced technology development environments.
- Basic understanding of gas delivery systems, chemical distribution systems, utility systems, or laboratory infrastructure.
- Experience with equipment inspections, preventive maintenance (PM), or troubleshooting activities.
- Knowledge of hazardous gas, chemical, or specialty material handling practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety requirements, risk assessment processes, and contamination control practices.
- Relevant technical certifications such as Gas Industrial Engineer, Industrial Safety, Hazardous Materials, or equivalent certifications.
- Basic ability to read and understand technical documents, equipment manuals, and operating procedures in English.
